Beginners Workout - how does it look like

Here are the basic attributes of a good beginners workout:
It has a low frequency (2-3 times per week), low repetition count (<10), low set count (1-2) and really high intensity, meaning that by the time you reach rep number 7 or 8, it is really hard to finish the repetition. If you can reach more than 10 repetitions with perfect form, it is time to add some more weights to your routine. Also remember to keep a log of your workouts, so you can monitor your progress better and tailor your workout to best fir your needs.

Also bear in mind, that you should, under no circumstances sacrifice form for making another repetition. It is ok to push yourself to the limits, but don't strain your body just to make that final repetition, only do it as long as you can maintain the correct posture for that exercise.

So what makes this workout so special?

beginners workout stimulates the hormonal responses, making it produce more of the following hormones:
  • Growth Hormone: burns body fat, helps grow muscle tissue and increase strength
  • IGF hormones: similar effects to GH
  • Testosterone: benefits protein synthesis, increase muscle growth
They all work together and can be produced by your body naturally, so stay away from any hormonal supplements, as they will only ruin your natural balance.

Ok, so the first thing that promotes such hormonal response is intense, heavy lifting, described earlier. What else?

Anaerobic exercise. Sprints, boxing, jump-rope exercises and other similar types of exercise that are short and intense promote the same hormonal response, but can be hard on your body, and remember we are trying to improve as fast as possible which requires a lot of rest, so my advice would be not do to the anaerobic exercise more than once every week.
